Cultural
We began in Africa; rising up to stand on two legs in the savannah grasslands of the east. Families joined one another to live in clans and slowly larger population groups developed forming villages, towns, cities and kingdoms. Over thousands of years distinct cultures evolved (and are still evolving), serving to bind populations together, providing a way of living, leaving a compelling history and giving life to an artistic legacy with a global influence.
When travellers visit Africa, they return with tales of wildlife and of welcome. Nature is beautiful, but is the history, the art and hospitality of the people that captures the heart.
We offer itineraries for both independent travellers and groups, which provide access to the cultures, histories and art of Africa. Whether you are eager to sample the ‘sounds of wisdom’ at the Zanzibar Music Festival, relive the Battles Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift or immerse yourself in the viniculture of the Western Cape , we can put together a trip to match.
We can also get you into the heart of local communities to really experience contemporary Africa. Hunt with Hadzabe people in or stay in the Kilombero Valley in Tanzania. Further south, fish with the Thongan people or track with the San in South Africa. Listed here are some sample itineraries, but please call the office to find out more possibilities from your African Space travel consultant.

When people think of Africa they don’t always think of great food; when people think of South Africa, they should. The cuisine of South Africa reflects its culture and its landscape, namely diverse and stunning. Great sea food; exotic Malay cooking; comforting Afrikaans baking; Indian curries and mouth watering game meat make South Africa a foodie’s heaven.
