Educational: Kenya

The first in-depth study of elephant began in Kenya with Ian Douglas-Hamilton in the 1960s and it still continues today. The tradition of study and research makes Kenya the ideal destination for educational trips. The northern arid savanna gives way to the grasslands of Amboseli, watered by the melt waters of Kilimanjaro. Mt. Kenya rises above the plains, while 2,000 years of Swahili history gives the coastal belt a distinct flavour of its own. On the shores of Lake Naivasha, a flower industry sends colour into the markets of Europe. Kenya is a remarkable country with a long fascinating history, and yet at the same time Kenya is progressing, a modern African nation.
